Cyclohexene is a useful precursor in the production of all kinds of important chemicals. However, most of the cyclohexene is either wasted, or goes to waste through the pollution of our surrounding environment. This is why we need to come up with new ways to capture this valuable resource. When it comes to capturing cyclohexene, a powerful industrial catalyst called sodium carbonate is required as an external additive to the reaction.

Sodium hydroxide is much easier to locate and less expensive than sodium carbonate. Sodium hydroxide is also very strong; however because it is neutral, it is extremely reactive. We had to use both sodium carbonate and hydroxide to get the best yield and performance. New blog: If you want a solvent that is not only eco-friendly, but also doesn’t harm you, then this is the right tool for you.

This is a nice example of a solvent that can tackle industrial processes at home. I have been researching different solvents and after some time research I came to the decision to use alcohol as the solvent. It could be of use for industrial purposes but also could be used in chemistry as it could be used to dissolve several organic precursors in one solvent.

What is the difference between ethanol and isopropyl alcohol. What makes alcohol and isopropyl alcohol different that makes it so useful and useful.
